Basic Navigation Controls (Desktop)
Navigating around your project is easy in Inspace. There are two different modes of viewing your project depending on whether you are on your desktop or in your VR headset.
Navigating in Desktop
The easiest way to navigate around your model in Inspace is to double click on any floor surface. That will snap your camera to location.
By default you will start in your project in Fly Mode. This means that the camera is not attached to the ground and has no collision. You can fly through all objects on scene including terrain, ceilings, floors and walls.
To move the camera around in desktop mode with the keyboard, use either the W,A,S,D or the directional keys. We recommend using the W,A,S,D keys for comfort and ease of convenience to other keys.
Move FORWARDS and BACKWARDS with the W/S or the Up and Down arrow keys:
Move LEFT and RIGHT with the A/D or the left and right arrow keys:
To fly UP and DOWN while you are in Fly Mode, use the Q and E keys:
To PAN the camera, click and holding the right mouse button:
You can toggle between walking and flying while viewing your project on the desktop.
If you have the camera above a flat surface, you can hit SPACE BAR to switch to Walk Mode. Walk Mode attaches the camera to the ground at an average walking height and provides collision to terrain and floors. Whilst in Walk Mode, you can move through objects that fall under layers named doors and windows.
Hit SPACE BAR again to toggle back to Fly Mode. You can always check which mode you're in at the top right hand corner of the screen:
Don't worry, if you forget what the navigation keys are a tool tip will appear every time you open a project:
The navigation tool tips will appear when you first open a project.
